Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies FourCandles uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. FourCandles also uses localStorage — a similar browser-based storage mechanism — to remember your preferences and session data.

2. The cookies we use

3. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for FourCandles to function. They cannot be disabled. Blocking them will prevent you from logging in.

4. Preference cookies

Preference cookies remember choices you make. All preference data is stored locally in your browser; it is not sent to our servers.

5. Analytics cookies

We do not currently use any third-party analytics cookies. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy and seek your consent.

6. Third-party cookies

When you sign in via Google OAuth, Google may set cookies on its own domains. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and are not controlled by FourCandles. Similarly, Replit Auth applies its own cookies on their domains.

7. Your choices and controls

You can manage cookies via your browser settings or via the cookie preference centre on the FourCandles website. Blocking essential cookies will break the login functionality.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top.
